PRS achieves a second prize in the European Environment Awards of the European Commission
The Navarran company Plastic Repair System 2011 SL has achieved a second prize in the category
«Product Service» in which it competed with 3 other finalist companies from France, Germany and
Hungary. At the ceremony, held in Vienna, the most innovative and
eco-innovators of the European business sector, among which is PRS.
The General Director of PRS, Laura Alba, who has collected this distinction, has highlighted the
importance of integrating the Circular Economy in industrial processes where the implication
and corporate responsibility is essential. Likewise, Alba thanked the Commission
European organization of these awards, “which undoubtedly represent the best showcase to give
to know viable sustainable initiatives, the application of which represents an important improvement for the
industrial fabric and for the whole of society ”.
The European Commission has held these awards since 1987 to recognize those companies
that successfully combine the economic viability of their businesses with the protection of the environment
. PRS received last June the European Prize for the Environment in Spain,
being able to opt in this way to the European phase, in which it has been finalist.

the repair of goods made of plastic, through a thermowelding method

that thanks to its service, PRS clients recover 100% of the object’s functionality
repaired, extending its useful life, also benefiting from an economic saving of 70% and
a reduction in the carbon footprint of at least 98%.
PRS is a specialist in repairing returnable plastic packaging (RTP) such as pallets,
boxes or containers used by the industrial sector. And also repair other kinds of
plastic goods such as kayaks, tanks, boats, tanks …
In 2017 alone, PRS managed to recover more than 1,263 tons of plastic through the
repair, which represents a CO2 retention of more than 1,126 tons. Besides the
responsibility with the environment, PRS has also acquired a commitment to
society, aimed at contributing to a more equitable community. Through its network of workshops,
Plastic Repair System helps people with disabilities in their labor integration and, of this
way, improves their quality of life. It should be noted that of the 21 PRS workshops, 6 are centers
for special employment.
