PRS achieved a retention of 6,917 tons of CO2 in 2018
Thanks to its certified and patented method of plastic repair, PRS recovered more than 100,000 packages made of plastic, avoiding their disposal and replacement.
The Navarran company Plastic Repair System 2011 SL repaired in 2018 more than 100,000 packaging made of plastic, which represents a reuse of more than 1,575 tons of plastic. By avoiding the disposal and replacement of these products, PRS achieved a retention of more than 6,917 tons of CO2 that would have emitted other alternative solutions to repair, such as recycling, incineration or burial.
PRS is a Circular Economy company specialized and pioneer in the repair of returnable transport packaging (RTP), such as pallets, boxes or containers, used by the industrial sector. Plastic Repair has its own certified and patented method, which is currently the most economical and sustainable solution on the market for the management and maintenance of this type of packaging.
REPAIR IS COMPETITIVENESS
According to the UN Meteorological Organization, the highest CO2 level in history was reached in 2017, so governments and institutions are taking measures to combat this problem.
Last November, the European Commission presented its long-term strategy against climate change, in which it proposes a reduction of polluting emissions by 80% by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement. In Spain, last Monday, February 25, the draft Law on Climate Change and Energy Transition was approved, whose pillars are the reduction of greenhouse gases (GHG), the introduction of renewable energies and energy efficiency.
The role of institutions, like that of companies, is fundamental in the fight against climate change. And from that commitment, Plastic Repair arose, with the aim of providing sustainable alternative solutions that favor the competitiveness of its customers. Thanks to the plastic repair, PRS achieves the recovery of 100% of the object’s functionality (prolonging its useful life), an economic saving of 70% and a reduction of the carbon footprint of at least 98%.
A GROWING COMPANY WITH RECOGNITION
Plastic Repair System 2011 S.L. is a pioneering company with 8 years of experience in the repair of goods made of plastic. It has a network of 20 workshops in Spain of which 6 are Special Employment Centers and, in addition, this year it will open its first branch abroad, specifically in Puebla, Mexico.
In 2018 PRS received from the Ministry of the Environment the European Business Environment Award (EBAE) in Spain, as well as a Second Prize in the European Phase. The EBAE represent the highest distinction, both at national and European level, in environmental matters. In 2019 it received the Innovative SME Seal from the Ministry and in 2018, after being recognized in 2017 with the EC Seal of Excellence within the H2020 program, PRS managed to pass Phase I of the European Commission SME Instrument Project .
